Free Milk and Breakfast Scheme

Blackpool Council has been providing free milk and free breakfasts to all children in Blackpool Primary Schools since January 2013.

All children in the Nursery and in the main school can choose to have the breakfast which is served in the classrooms between 8:45 a.m. and 8:55 a.m. each day.

The breakfast is optional; parents and carers are free to decide whether they wish their child to have the breakfast items of a carton of milk and a ‘bread product’ such as malt bread, scotch pancake, waffle or brioche (one type of ‘bread item’ is provided each day).

The scheme also provides fruit each day which the children are able to have at playtime.

Early in the spring term 2014 Myles Bremner, from The School Food Plan, visited our school to see what happens at breakfast time.
